Are you taking care of your teeth in every way possible? Not only is it important to continue your oral health hygiene habits, but doing so effectively is also important. Improve your oral health care with dental floss. Even if you are already flossing daily, there may be areas of your flossing routine that can be improved.

The first thing you need to do is look at what type of floss you are currently using. Try to go for a brand or product that has been given the ADA Seal of Acceptance for safety and effectiveness. You can also speak with your dentist to learn which products they approve of or recommend.

The type of floss you use should also be shred resistant. If it begins to tear every time you use it, it may not be doing its job effectively. Single filament thread is typically better for this task. In addition, never use the same section of a thread between two areas. To accomplish this, you will always need to use at least 18 inches of thread per session to ensure that you are using a clean section between every tooth. A typical session should last 2 to 3 minutes and should consist of cleaning between every tooth and behind your back teeth.
